

Former Khaitan & Co Equity Partner Ankur Sangal has launched Aerion Legal, a specialist intellectual property law firm, together with a team of senior IP professionals who have worked closely with him during his tenure at Khaitan & Co.
The Firm brings together a highly experienced team with a strong track record of handling complex, high-value and strategically significant intellectual property matters for leading Indian and multinational corporations.
The Firm is expected to commence operations with a team of nearly 30 professionals, providing it with the depth and scale to handle sophisticated mandates from its inception. Aerion Legal’s principal office will be based in New Delhi, with plans to expand its presence to Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai in the coming months.

Ankur Sangal has nearly 16 years of experience with Khaitan & Co., where he was an Equity Partner and played a significant role in handling and developing the firm’s intellectual property practice. During his tenure, he advised and represented several leading Indian and multinational corporations in complex and high-stakes IP disputes and strategic advisory mandates.
The Firm intends to adopt a partner-led model, with senior lawyers closely involved in strategy and execution across significant matters. This approach is designed to provide clients with direct access to experienced IP practitioners while maintaining the depth and institutional capability required for complex mandates.
