Bae, Kim & Lee LLC has hired Reema Dash, an India-qualified lawyer with 13 years of experience in corporate and investment matters in India, strengthening its support for Korean companies entering and operating in the Indian market.

Dash has worked at Indian law firms including Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB & Partners and J. Sagar Associates, and held in-house roles at Morgan Stanley India and the Indian subsidiary of G42, a UAE-based global technology company. Her experience spans corporate and regulatory matters, compliance, corporate governance, capital markets and technology infrastructure.

Her work has included equity and debt capital markets transactions, financing and investments involving companies, financial institutions and investment funds, listing preparations, corporate reorganizations, and post-listing disclosure and regulatory matters. Most recently, at G42, she worked on technology infrastructure projects, including an AI data center joint venture.

Dash will divide her time between Korea and Bengaluru, advising Korean companies on market entry, investment and corporate matters in India.

She will work alongside Sarthak Malhotra, an India-qualified lawyer whose practice focuses on international arbitration and dispute resolution. Together, they will support Korean clients from market entry and investment through business operations and disputes.

BKL is also expanding its on-the-ground presence in India. Beginning in October, Garam Shon, a member of the firm’s India Task Force, will be based in Delhi on secondment to Trilegal. He will work with local counsel to support Korean clients on investment incentive negotiations with government authorities, M&A transactions and joint venture formation in India.

The expansion comes as India has become an increasingly important investment destination for Korean companies amid global supply chain shifts and government policies promoting manufacturing investment. As Korean investment in the country grows, companies are seeking advice across the investment lifecycle, including entity establishment, investment structuring, regulatory compliance, financing, business operations and exit strategies.

Through its India Task Force, BKL continues to develop relationships with Indian law firms and institutions. This year, the firm held a seminar in New Delhi, followed by a joint seminar with AZB & Partners on investing in India from entry to exit. It also partnered with EY India for a seminar on market entry and exit strategies, addressing investment incentives, business structures, foreign direct investment regulations and data protection.

Jongbaek Park, Head of BKL’s India Task Force, commented,

“India is attracting growing interest from Korean companies and financial institutions, while navigating differences in local regulations and practices across the country is essential. Drawing on the extensive local experience of Ms. Dash and Mr. Malhotra, we aim to bridge differences between the Korean and Indian legal systems and business practices and provide practical, closely tailored advice throughout our clients’ investment and business activities in India.”
