Argus, Anagram act on BCCI selling IPL TV and digital rights to Disney Star, Viacom18

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the historic Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights auction sold the IPL TV and digital rights for the Indian subcontinent for a combined amount of ₹48,390 crore for the 2023-2027 cycle.

While Disney Star has retained the IPL television rights for ₹23,575 crore (₹57.5 crore/game), the most sought-after India digital rights deal was acquired for ₹20,500 crore by the Reliance-backed Viacom18, which also won the non-exclusive Package C, paying another ₹2,991 crore.

Disney Star was represented by its in-house team.

This deal has now made IPL the second richest league in the world ahead of the English Premier League (EPL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) and is now only the second sporting league after the United States’ National Football League (NFL) in terms of per match value.
