ELP advises Transworld on investment in ETPL team Dublin Guardians

Transworld Holdings Limited and the Transworld Family have made a strategic investment in Guardians Sporting Ventures FZCO, a UAE-based company established to own and operate Dublin Guardians, a franchise of the proposed European T20 Premier League.

Economic Laws Practice advised Transworld on this transaction. The Firm provided end-to-end legal assistance, including advising on the transaction structure, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the term sheet, subscription agreement and shareholders’ agreement.

The transaction team was led by Sujjain Talwar (Co-Founding Partner), Vinay Butani (Partner), Vinit Shah (Associate Partner), Kriti Bhattacharya (Senior Associate) and Aditi Banthia (Associate).

The transaction involved Transworld’s investment in Guardians as part of the financing of the Dublin Guardians franchise, alongside a consortium of international investors and strategic partners. The investment marked Transworld’s entry into the international sports and entertainment sector and its participation in the development of a global T20 cricket franchise. 

Owned by Rahul Dravid, Dublin Guardians are a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise team based in Dublin, Ireland, competing in the upcoming European T20 Premier League.
