JSA acts on PwC's India- PwC US joint venture

PwC India has formed a joint venture with PwC US, wherein PwC India will hold 49.9% and PwC US will hold 51.1%.

JSA Advocates and Solicitors advised PwC India on this JV.

The transaction was led by Lalit Kumar (Partner), along with Bharati Joshi (Partner), Zarish Ali (Principal Associate), Associates Muskaan Gupta and Rahul Kapoor.

The competition law team was led by Vaibhav Choukse (Partner), along with Ela Bali (Partner), Ishaan Chakrabarti (Senior Associate), Associates Aarathi R Menon, Yaatri Shah and Priyanshi Jain.

The transaction is subject to applicable regulatory approvals, including approval from the Competition Commission of India.

The joint venture will comprise PwC India’s consulting business and PwC US’s acceleration centres in India, with operational control vesting with PwC India.

The transaction represents a significant strategic combination in the professional services sector, creating a platform that brings together substantial advisory talent and capabilities across two of PwC’s key markets. It also underscores the growing strategic importance of India as a global hub for talent, innovation and Global Capability Centres, while advancing PwC’s broader ambition of building a more globally integrated consulting model.

PwC India’s audit, tax and transactions businesses, as well as other government advisory-related work, will not form part of this joint venture.
