Khaitan & Co advised RR Kabel on acquisition of U M Cables

RR Kabel Limited has acquired the business of manufacture and sale of Optical Fibre and related cables from the U M Cables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Usha Martin Limited, by way of a slump sale. 

Khaitan & Co advised RR Kabel on this acquisition.

The transaction was led by Bhavik Narsana (Partner), Kinshuk Jhunjhunwala (Partner), Ipshita Dey (Senior Associate) and Kamayani Mittal (Associate). The following provided support:

The acquisition marks RR Kabel’s entry into the Optical Fibre Cable segment and is an important step in expanding RR Kabel’s presence in the broader communication cables market. It will complement RR Kabel’s existing cable portfolio and broaden its range of solutions across communication infrastructure applications.
