18th SILF Turf Cricket League 2026 begins with Captains’ Meet and Draw of Lots

The 18th SILF Turf Cricket League 2026 officially commenced on September 24 with the Captains’ Meet and Draw of Lots, hosted by Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President of the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF).

The occasion also saw the unveiling of the tournament trophies in the presence of participating team captains and representatives of the tournament’s sponsors.

The tournament will begin on October 2, 2026, with matches being played at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi.

This year’s edition marks one of the biggest editions of the SILF Turf Cricket League, with 32 leading law firms participating. This is only the second time in the history of the league that the tournament has reached the 32-team mark.

Addressing the participating teams, Dr. Lalit Bhasin wished all the law firms the very best for the tournament and reflected on the longstanding association between SILF and the tournament.

Dr. Bhasin noted that the SILF Turf Cricket League, conceptualised and organised by Sachin Khurana, Founder of Turf Sports Management, has been conducted in 18 of the 25 years since the formation of the Society of Indian Law Firms.

Dr. Bhasin also announced that the Man of the Tournament Trophy will henceforth be known as the “Arun Jaitley Trophy for the Man of the Tournament”, in recognition of the late Arun Jaitley’s association with the legal fraternity and SILF.

Sonali Jaitley, daughter of the late Arun Jaitley, and Jaiyesh Bakhshi, his son-in-law, were also present at the occasion.

Dr. Bhasin and Sachin Khurana thanked all the participating law firms for their continued support of the league, as well as the sponsors and partners who have come on board for the 18th edition.
