69.21% candidates pass AIBE XX; AIBE XXI to be held on June 7

The results of the All India Bar Examination XX (AIBE XX) will be declared by the Bar Council of India (BCI) today. The pass percentage stands at 69.21%.

2,51,968 candidates appeared for the exam. Only 1,74,386 have qualified AIBE XX. As per a BCI press release, 3 candidates' OMR answer sheets have not been received and were not counted.

AIBE XX was conducted on November 30, 2025 across 399 centres.

A Monitoring Committee considered objections from candidates and has withdrawn 5 out of the total 100 questions in AIBE XX. The Committee has decided to award full marks to candidates who opted for either of the two answers for two questions that had two options that were correct answers. The result will now be based on 95 marks.

Qualifying marks for General and OBC category candidates is 43 (45% of 95 marks). For the SC/ST/PwD categories, the qualifying mark is 38.

The Monitoring Committee for AIBE XX was headed by former Supreme Court Justice Hima Kohli and included Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoj Kumar Sinha and Gujarat National Law University Director Prof (Dr) Sanjeevi Shanthakumar as members of the Committee.

India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER) Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Venkata Rao and Hidayatullah National Law University Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) VC Vivekanandan were special invitees to the Monitoring Committee.

BCI will conduct AIBE XXI on June 7, 2026 with the online registration process commencing on February 11, 2026.

The last date to register will be April 30, 2026. The last date to pay the registration fee online will be May 1, 2026 and last date to make changes in registration will be May 3, 2026. The admit card for AIBE XXI will be released on May 22, 2026. Detailed notifications and instructions for AIBE XXI will be released on the BCI and AIBE website shortly.
