9 women lawyers selected for Indian Litigation Fellowship 2026-2027

9 lawyers have been selected for the Indian Litigation Fellowship 2026-2027, a program that aims to provide financial and mentorship support to empower young, first-generation women litigators at the start of their careers.

This year, nearly 900 applications were received for just 10 positions. The organisers noted that a majority of applicants highlighted significant structural and socio-economic barriers to entering and sustaining a career in litigation.

For the 2026–2027 cycle, out of the 9 candidates, 8 have been selected as Open Litigation Fellows. 1 candidate has been awarded the Lawyer-in-Residence Fellowship.

No candidate was selected for the Lawyer-in-Residence position attached to E-23 Chambers, New Delhi this year.

The lawyers selected as Open Litigation Fellows are:

• Yumnam Binita Singha from Assam;

• Kiran Yadav from Delhi;

• Ananya Madhusudhanan from Kerala;

• Shruti Ganesh Kolaki from Karnataka;

• Tsering Angmo from Ladakh;

• Vaishnavi from Haryana;

• Ayesha Shahid from Delhi;

• Thanishka from Tamil Nadu.

The Lawyer-in-Residence Fellowship has been awarded to Aanchal Saini from Delhi. She will be attached to Pravah Law (Chambers of Shrutanjaya Bhardwaj), New Delhi, for a period of one year.

The eight Open Litigation Fellows will have the flexibility to work with litigation chambers of their choice.
