A cheap publicity stunt: Akshay Kumar demands 500 Cr as damages in defamation notice to YouTuber Rashid Siddiquee for linking him to SSR case

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has issued a defamation notice against YouTube content maker Rashid Siddiquee for allegedly publishing false and defamatory videos on his YouTube channel 'FF News' against Kumar..Siddiquee is stated to have made scandalous and malicious videos claiming that Kumar was involved in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case..In the legal notice sent through Kumar's Advocates IC Legal, Kumar has called upon Siddiquee to:Take down the videos making derogatory allegations and issue an unconditional apology for publishing them. refrain from publishing any such false videosPay Rs. 500 crores within a period of 3 days from date of service of notice, failing which Kumar would be compelled to initiate appropriate legal proceedings against Siddiquee..Kumar's notice further notes that through the 12 videos uploaded on Siddiquee's YouTube channel, the content creator had alleged that Kumar had:aided Rhea Chakraborty to abscond to Canada, and,that Kumar had held a 'secret meeting' with Maharashtra's Cabinet Minister Aditya Thackeray and members of the Mumbai Police to discuss Sushant Singh Rajput's case..Siddiquee is further stated to have alleged that Rajput's diary purportedly mentioned that Akshay Kumar was interested in playing the titular role in the film MS Dhoni, which was eventually played by Rajput, and that Kumar was very upset over this Rajput playing the role..Kumar's notice mentions that Siddiquee "intentionally published those videos with sensational headlines to mislead the public and lower the self-esteem of Kumar."."The videos are just a cheap publicity stunt with a motive to increase the traffic on the said YouTube Channel."Akshay Kumar's notice reads..Kumar has raised concerns that such derogatory videos against him were being picked up by other platforms, making similar allegations, and that such a spread of misinformation will mislead the public about the ongoing investigation..The notice, sent through his lawyers, adds that "absolute make belief stories, with no proof, have been weaved with a malicious intent to jeopardise our client's image, character and fan following.".Earlier this month, Siddiquee was also granted pre-arrest bail by a Mumbai Magistrate in connection with an FIR lodged with the BKC Cyber cell over videos pertaining to Aditya Thackeray..Siddiquee was directed to furnish Rs. 15,000 as a bail bond in case he was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with the FIR and was directed to appear before the Cyber police station every Tuesday till further orders..[Read Mumbai Court order here]
