The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL), New Delhi will remain closed on November 4 and November 5, 2019 owing to the hazardous Air Quality Index (AQI) in New Delhi. In order to compensate for the two holidays, APTEL shall work on two other non – working days, November 9 and November 23.

The circular issued in this regard reads:

Due to hazardous AQI level in NCR Delhi, 04th and 05th November, 2019 (Monday and Tuesday) have been declared as closed holidays in APTEL. Instead of these two holidays, 9th and 23rd November, 2019 (Saturdays) will be working days in APTEL.

The quality of the air deteriorated rapidly to the “severe” category” for the first time this season, in the capital city of India. Today was one of the worst days and a public health emergency was declared in Delhi by the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority.
