The Central government has notified the appointment of five Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court as Permanent Judges today..The names of the five Additional Judges are as follows:Justice Dixit Krishna ShripadJustice Shankar Ganapathi PanditJustice Ramakrishna DevdasJustice Bhotanhosur Mallikarjuna Shyam Prasad andJustice Siddappa Sunil Dutt Yadav.These names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 17 last year. The Centre notified the appointment of these five names as Additional Judges for Karnataka High Court in February last year subsequent to the recommendation of the Collegium comprising the then Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices J Chelameswar and Ranjan Gogoi..The Centre has also notified the appointment of three Additional Judges to the Karnataka High Court earlier today. Currently the Karnataka High Court has a working strength of 48 judges (24 permanent and 24 additional judges), as against a sanctioned strength of 62 judges.
