Arbitration Bar of India conducts survey to assess women’s representation in arbitration

The Arbitration Bar of India (ABI) is conducting a survey to understand the representation of women within the broader pool of arbitrators in the country.

Conducted by ABI’s Inclusion and Diversity in Arbitrator Appointments Task Force, the survey seeks feedback from stakeholders on issues such as the number of appointments of women arbitrators, market preferences, and their professional backgrounds.

Payal Chawla and Nandini Khaitan are the Co-Chairs of this Task Force and Dr. Amit George and Mayuri T Agarwala are the Members.

The survey aims to gather input from stakeholders and create a comprehensive dataset on the current state of women’s representation among arbitrators.

The insights collected will aim to guide the ABI’s future diversity initiatives and inform policy decisions.
