Ashutosh Kumbhakoni appointed Advocate General of Maharashtra [Read Notification]

Senior Advocate Ashutosh Kumbhakoni has been appointed as Advocate General for the State of Maharashtra.

The Governor of Maharashtra has appointed Kumbhakoni as the new Advocate General after the State Cabinet recommended his name for the post.

The Advocate General’s post fell vacant after Rohit Deo took oath as the additional judge of the Bombay High Court.

Kumbhakoni was designated as Senior Advocate in 2014.

In 2008, Kumbhakoni was elevated to the bench. However, he had resigned over issues related to his seniority. He served as a judge for six months.
