Bombay Bar Association signs MoU with Lawyers Council of Thailand

The Bombay Bar Association (BBA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (LCT) in Bangkok on September 5.

BBA President Nitin Thakkar signed the agreement.

The association claimed that this is the first formal institutional arrangement between the two organizations to deepen ties between the Indian and Thai legal communities.

The partnership aims to achieve following: 

• Exchange of information on regional legal developments and foreign lawyer regulations;

• Conducting joint seminars, exchange visits, and cross-publishing members' work in legal journals;

• Promoting the rule of law and strengthening inter-bar cooperation across jurisdictions.

Both organisations also participated in a friendly badminton match in Bangkok to highlight the MoU’s commitment to informal engagement and sporting activities. 

The BBA contingent featured advocates Ayaz Bilawala, Sachin Mandlik, Abhiraj Gandhi, Kiran Desai, Mayur Bhojwani, Ritish Desai, Vatsala Pant and Aanchal Vaswani.
