On principle, I wrote to the Collegium withdrawing my consent.".After a meeting held on February 4, 2021, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Sondhi as well as Rajendra Badamikar and Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin as Karnataka High Court judges. While the latter two were appointed as judges a month later on March 25, Sondhi's name remained on the file..Sondhi's name was reiterated by the Collegium after a meeting held on September 1 last year..Sondhi was designated Senior Advocate in June 2014. He enrolled at the Bar in 1998 and had previously worked under Senior Advocate Udaya Holla.He is a graduate of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. He has been awarded a PhD in Political Science by the Mysore University. He earlier did his Masters in Political Science from Bangalore University. He has also served as Additional Advocate General for the Karnataka government, a post to which he was appointed in 2016.
