Cabinet clears proposal for Presidential Reference seeking J Ganguly’s removal

The Union Cabinet has agreed to seek a Presidential Reference for Justice AK Ganguly’s removal as Chairperson of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission. As per this post in Zee News, Finance Minister P Chidambaram confirmed the fact that the proposal had been approved. As per the same post, the West Bengal government first made the proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs, who subsequently forwarded it to the Union Cabinet.
