Calcutta High Court asks West Bengal government to take proactive steps to bring back students to schools after COVID-19

The PIL claimed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, on account of classes being disrupted and lack of facilities for online classes, a large number of students dropped out from government schools.

The Calcutta High Court recently ordered the West Bengal government to sensitise parents about the importance of good education for their children and take positive steps to bring back students who have dropped out of schools post the COVID-19 pandemic [Sayan Banerjee v. State of West Bengal].
