The Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN) Foundation has invited applications for the fourth edition of one of its flagship projects, Project Eklavya.

Project Eklavya seeks to ease the pursuit of education for deserving, but underprivileged, undergraduate law students by providing them with an annual scholarship.

In the academic session 2021-22, under the 3rd edition of the Project, 45 students were given scholarships, amounting to ₹40 Lakhs approximately. They aim to provide similar assistance this year as well.

The Selection Procedure for Project Eklavya is designed as a meticulous two-tier process that, as per the Foundation, seeks to ensure that the most deserving candidates are extended help. This 2-tier process, comprises eminent legal professionals being requested to undertake strict scrutiny of the application received. The students will be shortlisted by a carefully nominated Tier-1 Scrutiny Committee, post which the applications would be carefully verified and examined by a 3-Membered High-Powered Panel.

The High-Powered Selection Committee for Eklavya 2022 is headed by Justice AK Sikri (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India) as its Chairperson and consists of Justice Gita Mittal (Former Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court) and Senior Advocate Rajshekhar Rao as its members.
