Enforcement authorities have been advised to treat such documents as valid till December 31, 2020, in view of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended the validity of Motor Vehicle certificates concerning fitness, permits, licenses, registration and other documents until December 31, in view of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
As per a press release issued by the Ministry today, the validity of these and other documents under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 will stand extended till .
This extension of validity is applicable to all such documents which have expired since February this year and those which would expire by December 31.
The decision has been taken considering that the COVID-19 pandemic situation is still continuing and given the lockdown conditions prevailing to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Enforcement authorities have been advised to treat such documents as valid till December 31, 2020.
