Centre notifies transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh from Kerala to Karnataka High Court

The Central government has notified the transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh from the Kerala High Court to the Karnataka High Court.

In its meeting held on May 26, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended his transfer.

In 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the transfer of Justice Singh to the Kerala High Court.

In doing so, the Collegium had rejected his request to continue at his parent High Court or be transferred to neighbouring State of his choice.

Notably, the Executive Committee of the Awadh (Oudh) Bar Association of the Allahabad High Court had refused to organise a felicitation ceremony in honor of Justice Singh following his transfer to Kerala.

The office bearers and executive members of the Bar Association had expressed the view that Justice Singh's conduct towards lawyers was disrespectful during his tenure as a judge.
