Centre notifies transfer of three High Court judges [Read Notifications]

The Central Government has notified the transfer of three High Court judges. Three notifications dated yesterday intimate the transfer of Justices Alok AradheVineet Kothari and Rajesh Bindal.

Justice Alok Aradhe, presently serving at the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, has been transferred to the Karnataka High Court. Last month, the Collegium had accepted a request made by Justice Aradhe for the same.

Further, pursuant to Collegium resolutions passed earlier this month, Justice Vineet Kothari of the Karnataka High Court and Justice Rajesh Bindal of the Punjab and Haryana High Court have also been transferred.

Justice Vineet Kothari has been transferred to the Madras High Court and is expected to assume his office on or before November 24. Justice Kothari was initially recommended for transfer to Allahabad High Court. However, the Collegium reconsidered the proposal on a request made by Justice Kothari and thereafter recommended his tranfer to Madras.

Justice Rajesh Bindal has been transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court and will also be assuming his office by November 24. The Collegium had initially intended for Justice Bindal to be transferred to the Madras High Court. However, it later acceded to a request made by Justice Bindal for a transfer to his parent High Court of Jammu and Kashmir.
