After giving an appointment to the striking lawyers in Gujarat, Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Chandrachud has also agreed to meet a delegation representing the Telangana High Court Advocates' Association (THCAA) today afternoon..The lawyers in Telangana are also on strike and have resolved to abstain from work to protest the proposed transfer of Justice A Abhishek Reddy to Patna High Court.In a message circulated by advocate Jalli Narendar, Secretary of THCAA, it has been informed that CJI Chandrachud has consented to meet the delegation of lawyers today at 1.30 pm to discuss about the body's resolution (to abstain from work) regarding transfer of Justice Reddy."The abstaining from work in the High Court would continue even on Monday , further developments will be informed to the members of the Bar after meeting with the CJI. We appeal the members of the Bar to co-operate in abstaining the work on Monday and make successful our protest," Narendar's message added..As per the Narendar, four top office bearers of the THCAA would be part of the delegation, which would meet CJI today. "Our president advocate V Raghunath, his deputy Pasham Krishna Reddy, two secretaries - me and advocate Malla Reddy Gadipally will be meeting the CJI. Our delegations would also comprise of senior advocates, who would be joining us directly in the Supreme Court," Narendar confirmed..The THCAA followed the path of the Gujarat High Court Advocates' Association (GHCAA), which has been staging a protest since Thursday after the news regarding the transfer of Justice Nikhil Kariel to Patna High Court was reported by the media.The CJI would be meeting the GHCAA delegation also today afternoon.
