Clasis Law co-founder Sakate Khaitan leaves with 3 SA’s to start ‘Khaitan Legal Associates’ in London and Mumbai

Clasis Law Senior Partner Sakate Khaitan, along with three Senior Associates Radhika Iyer, Sangeeta Jhunjhunwala and Satyendra Shrivastava, has left the firm to set up ‘Khaitan Legal Associates’..Khaitan Legal Associates will operate from offices in Mumbai and London and will have correspondent offices across different cities in India..Sakate commented,.“I was looking at undertaking an entrepreneurial initiative focused on the ever growing opportunities in the India-Europe and India-US business corridor. An independent legal services platform presents the right fit for me”..The three Senior Associates in the 11-member team have joined the firm as Partners. Radhika Iyer and Sangeeta Jhunjhunwala will be based out of Mumbai while Satyendra Shrivastava will work with Sakate in London..On his experience at Clasis, Sakate added,.“It has been a fulfilling journey thus far, setting up Clasis Law with other partners and a fantastic association with Clyde & Co for the last five years but it is now the time to pursue new ventures”..In 2011, five partners across the Mumbai, Delhi and London offices of ALMT Legal had left ALMT to start-up Clasis Law, with Clasis continuing the best friend relationship with Clyde & Co..Of the five, the two Partners from ALMT’s London office were Sakate Khaitan and Shalini Agarwal, both of whom are no longer part of Clasis Law. Shalini Aggarwal had left the firm last year to start her own firm, ‘In Se Legal’, in London. With Khaitan’s departure, the Clasis Law London office currently does not have a Partner..Vineet Aneja, Managing Partner at Clasis Law, told Bar & Bench that,.“We will be continuing with our London office.
