Collegium recommends Additional Judges of three High Courts be made Permanent Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that three judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court and two judges each of the Jharkhand and Gauhati High Courts be made permanent judges of their respective High Courts. Three resolutions to this effect were passed yesterday.

In order to ascertain the merit and suitability for being made permanent judges, the Collegium records that it consulted with colleagues familiar with the affairs of the High Courts, the material on record and inputs from the Department of Justice. Further, the Collegium also considered reports compiled by a two-judge Committee on the judgments passed by the additional judges.

In view of the same, the Collegium has recommended that the following additional judges be made permanent.
