Collegium recommends 26 new judges to Allahabad High Court including Supreme Court lawyers Garima Prashad, Swarupama Chaturvedi

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of 12 lawyers and 14 judicial officers as judges of

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on September 1.

Out of the 26 persons recommended, four are women. Two of them, Senior Advocates Garima Prashad and Swarupama Chaturvedi, practice at the Supreme Court.

The two women judicial officers recommended are Vani Ranjan Agrawal and Babita Rani.

Bar and Bench had reported on August 30 that the Collegium would be holding interactions with 33 candidates for filling up vacancies at the Allahabad High Court.

The recommendations have been made subsequent to such interactions.

- Jai Krishna Upadhyay;

- Siddharth Nandan;

- Kunal Ravi Singh;

- Indrajeet Shukla, and

- Satya Veer Singh.
