The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday said that it is conscious of the problems in listing of bail petitions and is trying to resolve the issues surrounding the same..Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva said that the number of benches dealing with bail has been increased from one to two, and he is considering whether more judges should be designated on the roster. “We are conscious of the problem. We are also concerned about bail matters. Wait for a week, we are increasing the number of benches dealing with bail matters and overhauling the filing and scrutiny system as well. If the situation does not improve in a week, you may come again and meet me in the chamber rather than doing this in open court,” Justice Sachdeva told a group of lawyers. They had assembled before a bench of Chief Justice Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf to raise the grievance about the delay in listing of bail matters..Madhya Pradesh High Court Bar Association Secretary Paritosh Trivedi told the Court that there are cases filed in April which are yet to be listed, and that the problem has gotten worse after the summer vacation. Chief Justice Sachdeva said that earlier, hundreds of cases used to be listed before benches, but most of them would never reach for hearing. “Jab 600-600 cases list ho rahe the tab problem nahi thi aapko? (You had no problems when over 600 cases were listed before benches,” he asked. Justice Sachdeva added that the filing and scrutiny system is being improved and the impact will be reflected in a week. “Wait for a week. If the situation is not resolved by next Monday, you may come and meet me in my chamber rather than doing this in court,” he said. The lawyers agreed to the suggestion by the Chief Justice.
