[Coronavirus] Rakesh Dwivedi contributes Rs 1 Crore to PM Cares Fund; Tamil Nadu AG urges law officers to contribute to CM Relief Fund

Joining various other members of the Bar who have been extending financial support to combat the the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Senior Advocate Rakesh Diwvedi has donated Rs 1 core to the Prime Minister Citizens ’Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) Fund..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Dwivedi also urged more people to come forward in contributing to relief aid. He said, ."I request all my friends, colleagues, and fellow citizens to join in this great battle against coronavirus that Prime Minister has launched and they should contribute in whatever manner they can... they should contribute to the PM CARES fund and also to mass organisations who are helping the poor people in these difficulties they are facing. This is a fight on two fronts - Corona as well as hunger."Senior Advocate Rakesh Dwivedi.In the meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's Advocate General Vijay Narayan circulated a public appeal last week, urging law officers of the state to donate a month's retainer fee to to the State's Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. ."I appeal to all Additional Advocate Generals, law officers attached to the office of the State Government Pleader, High Court, Madras and it's Bench at Madurai to donate minimum one month’s Retainership Fee to aid the relief effort of the State."TN Advocate General Vijay Narayan.It was further intimated that, "The cheque/demand draft may be sent to the office of the Additional Director, Department of Government Litigations, Office of the State Government Pleader, High Court, Madras. Supreme Court judge, Justice NV Ramana, made a contribution of Rs. 1 lakh each towards the Prime Minister's Relief Fund as well as the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh..Justice Ravindra Bhat was seen yesterday joining efforts to offer aid to the migrant workers, handing out food packets to them..Recently it was also decided that officers of the Supreme Court Registry will contribute a portion of their salaries from this month to the PM CARES Fund on a voluntary basis.
