[Coronavirus] When the enemy is invisible, it is prudent to remain in hiding: Madras HC Chief Justice AP Sahi urges people to quarantine

The Chief Justice of Madras High Court, AP Sahi has addressed another letter to the general public, urging that people continue to stay at home given that movement and contact are the primary causes behind the undesirable spread of the Novel Coronavirus..In his letter dated April 1, the Chief Justice says,.“The lessons of wrath and the blessings of nature are competing where, we the passersby, are at the receiving end and are trying to protect ourselves by redefining our own lifestyle.”Chief Justice AP Sahi.Chief Justice Sahi goes on to observe that the global devastation of the developed countries due to the disease can be attributed to their underestimation of the pandemic, complacency and lack of resources..The letter states that while we are caught unaware, non-adherence to medical protocol, migrations and escape journeys due to unverified suspicion or otherwise tend to supplement and multiply the spread..He quotes Chanakya, to state that when the enemy is invisible, it is prudent to remain in the hiding. He goes on to explain that when a calamity of this nature strikes, generating a sort of helplessness, it is wise to remain within confines by drawing a Laxman Rekha for oneself..While commending the fight put up by the country, he adds that we still cannot afford any complacency..“A little loose fitting in the assembly line can dissolve the best of efforts. A constant vigil and a repetitive observance will definitely help us to sail through this unruly weather.”Chief Justice AP Sahi.The letter also quotes Churchill in saying "No success is final and no failure is fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts"..The public address further highlights that the single responsible act of staying back home would exhibit tolerance, also adding that the pain and the pleasure of abstinence is entirely for our benefit..Moreover, the Chief Justice has also commended the untiring efforts of scientists, engineers and workers of all professions..Ultimately, Justice Sahi attempts to boost the morale of the citizens, remarking, “Imagine, you will win Life itself. He had made similar appeals earlier as well.
