Alipak Banerjee has left Nishith Desai Associates to launch independent disputes practice and disputes chamber.
Banerjee was associated with NDA for nearly 12 years and headed the firm's Dispute Resolution practice in New Delhi.
His new practice will focus on international arbitration, commercial and regulatory disputes, and white-collar crime litigation, with a strong emphasis on complex, cross-border matters. He will also continue to accept arbitral appointments and is empaneled with several reputed international arbitral institutions.
On his exit from NDA, Banerjee commented,
“It has been a tremendous journey with Nishith Desai Associates, where I’ve had the privilege of working on some of the most cutting-edge disputes.
I’m excited for this next chapter – to build something from the ground up and work closely with clients and colleagues across jurisdictions.”
Banerjee has been featured in Lexology Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2025 (Future Leaders – Partners) in the “Most Highly Regarded” category. He is also ranked by Chambers and Partners, Asia-Pacific 2025 for Dispute Resolution (New Delhi), and for White Collar Crime and Corporate Investigations in both the 2024 and 2025 editions.
