Amit Kapur joins CAM as Senior Partner and Head – Northern Region & Chair - Disputes Practice

Amit Kapur has joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as Senior Partner and Head of the firm’s Northern Region and Chair of the Disputes Practice.

The move was first reported by Bar and Bench in June.

Kapur focuses on commercial and constitutional dispute resolution, policy and regulatory dimensions and transactions in Energy (Power & Hydrocarbons); Transport (Rail, Highways and Civil Aviation); Telecom; Communications; Municipal Infrastructure and Social /Developmental projects. He is regularly consulted on Infrastructure, Regulatory and PPP issues by several ministries/bodies of Central and State Governments; Developmental Financial Institutions); Competition & Sector regulators and leading Indian and foreign Corporates. He also argues complex, precedent-setting commercial and regulatory matters before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, appellate tribunals, economic regulators, and arbitral tribunals.

He has had the opportunity to assist in and contribute to policy making and legislative processes like the Kelkar Committee on Rejuvenation of infrastructure and consequential legislative drafting, and Public Procurement Contracts Review committee.

He has served as a member of the National Energy Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the last 20 years; and is a Member of CII`s National Infrastructure Council. He has also been associated as a member of the Steering Committee of TERI’s Repository for Environmental Activities & Technologies (TREAT) and has been associated with CII’s Committees/ Core Groups on ‘Judicial Reforms’, ‘Corporate Laws’, ‘Northern Regional Committee on Administrative Reforms’.

Kapur has joined CAM after spending over three decades with JSA Advocates & Solicitors. During his time at JSA, Kapur had served as Joint Managing Partner for two terms between 2019 and 2025.
