ARCAS Law merges with TAS Law; Arpit Gupta joins as Equity Partner

TAS Law has announced its merger with ARCAS Law, a Supreme Court-focused practice founded by Arpit Gupta, effective July 1, 2026.

Gupta, an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, joins TAS Law as Equity Partner, while Utsav Trivedi continues as the Managing Partner of the firm.

All work of the combined practice will now be carried out under the name of TAS Law.

Gupta brings a focused Supreme Court practice centred on appellate strategy, drafting and advocacy. As Advocate-on-Record, he has appeared in environmental cases concerning the enforcement of the Solid Waste Management Rules and the restoration of river ecosystems, as well as long-running civil and property disputes. He regularly works with Senior Advocates on complex mandates and holds an LL.M. from the University of Glasgow. His team at ARCAS Law joins him at TAS Law.

Trivedi co-founded TAS Law in 2019 and has built it into a disputes practice with presence before the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court and the district courts of Delhi as well as various High Courts across the country. An alumnus of Christ University, Bangalore, he has appeared for the State of Maharashtra before the Supreme Court and serves as empanelled counsel for public sector and government bodies. The firm also runs a dedicated pro bono wing, set up in 2020.

Commenting on the development, Trivedi said,

“Arpit and I have briefed together, strategised together and seen each other work under pressure. Somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like two firms working together and started feeling like one team. Formalising it was the natural next step. Arpit's discipline as an Advocate-on-Record and his command over practice add real depth to what we have built at TAS Law.” 

Speaking on joining the firm, Gupta said,

“Having worked closely with Utsav and the team at TAS Law on shared mandates, I found that joining the firm felt less like a move and more like a homecoming. I look forward to building practice at TAS Law, while my team and I continue to serve our clients with the same rigour, now with the strength of a larger platform behind us.”

The merger and the partnership structuring were facilitated by a team from Legal League Consulting comprising Founder, Chairman and Managing Director Bithika Anand; CEO Nipun K Bhatiaa; and Senior Consultant Shantanu Narain.
