Bithika Anand has announced the launch of Aatman Samarpan, a new initiative aimed at promoting the holistic well-being of the global legal community.
The initiative marks Anand’s third venture after founding Legal League Consulting, a law firm management consultancy, and Human Elevation, a legal talent acquisition company.
Aatman Samarpan aims to create a platform where lawyers can rediscover balance, purpose and inner strength, enabling them to perform at their highest potential while maintaining fulfilling personal lives.
Conceived as a community-driven effort, the initiative is designed as “a movement built by lawyers, for lawyers,” bringing together members of the profession across generations, geographies and areas of practice.
Aatman Samarpan is inspired by the ideas of 'Aatma', meaning the soul, and 'Mann', representing the mind, together with 'Samarpan', which signifies dedication, surrender and offering.
Speaking about the initiative, Anand said,
“True wellness is about the integration of mind, body, soul, and heart. It is about community, connection, culture, creativity, and discovering who we are beyond our professional identities. Aatman Samarpan is the result of a long held aspiration to provide the legal community with the inspiration, knowledge, and resources needed to pursue holistic wellness and lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. In times marked by conflict and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, it is ultimately our humanness that will sustain humanity.”
The launch will take place during VidhiUtsav 2026, a festival of law, legal literature, knowledge and culture organised by OakBridge Publishing, scheduled to be held on March 28 and 29.
The initiative will be inaugurated by several prominent members of the legal fraternity, including:
Lalit Bhasin, managing partner of Bhasin & Co. and president of the Society of Indian Law Firms
Manoj Kumar, additional secretary at the Ministry of Law and Justice (India)
Jyoti Sagar, founder and chairman emeritus of J Sagar Associates
Atul Sharma, executive chairman of Dentons Link Legal
Sanjeev Gemawat, managing director and group general counsel at Essar Group
Anand Prasad, co-founder of Trilegal and senior partner at AP & Partners
Senior Advocate Chander Lall, founder of Lall & Sethi
Justin Bharucha, managing partner of Bharucha & Partners
The platform will encompass a wide range of activities focused on different aspects of well-being, including:
Mindfulness, meditation, pranayama, and yoga
Mentoring – senior counsels/partners guiding the next generation
Creative expression: music, dance, visual arts, handicrafts, and all art forms
Physical rejuvenation through sports, movement, and recreation
Inspiration through storytelling, shared experience, and peer wisdom
Indian culture, as a living thread woven through every expression of the initiative
Community Service
Aatman Samarpan aims to create interest-based communities where legal professionals can exchange ideas, share experiences and engage in dialogue. These groups will interact to encourage wider collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
The initiative will be supported by an annual flagship gathering and regular engagements throughout the year. It is said to be designed as an open, community-driven initiative involving lawyers, mentors, artists and other professionals.
Inclusive across age groups, Aatman Samarpan aims to connect lawyers globally while also promoting social initiatives that benefit the wider community.
