Exclusive: Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Partner and Northern Region Head Ajay Sawhney leaves to join AZB & Partners

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Partner and Northern Region Head Ajay Sawhney has resigned from the firm and is moving to AZB & Partners as an Equity Partner, according to reliable sources.

Confirming his exit, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Managing Partner, Cyril Shroff said,

“Ajay has been a valuable member of the firm. He has served CAM well. We wish him all the best in life and all success in his future endeavours."

Sawhney is a 2003 graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He earned his LLM from the University of Liverpool in 2004.

With over two decades of experience, Sawhney specialises in projects and construction law. He advises various business groups on acquisitions, project financing, and construction and development, with a focus on both domestic and international projects. He has provided advisory services to banks and financial institutions on prominent lending transactions within the infrastructure sector across the Asia Pacific region.

As the Head of the Northern Region, Sawhney led CAM's Noida office. His previous engagements include a short 1-year stint at K Law and a decade at Link Legal.

It is understood that few more team members may be leaving with Sawhney to join AZB.
