Freshfields has appointed Mark Sansom as its new Global Client Partner, while Victoria Sigeti assumes the former's position as the new UK Managing Partner.

Sansom will oversee the firm’s global client strategy across various practice groups and sectors. He will maintain his full client responsibilities while taking on this new role.

During his time as London and Dublin lead, he guided the Firm through a phase of consistent growth, enhanced collaboration among practices, and further developed the Firm’s people-focused initiatives.

Based in London, Sigeti will head the Firm’s UK business, collaborating closely with colleagues both regionally and globally to advance strategic priorities. She will carry out these responsibilities alongside maintaining her full client practice.

As a prominent private capital Partner, Sigeti advises global clients on some of their most complex transactions. She has also been instrumental in expanding Freshfields’ private capital services and in cultivating a multigenerational talent pool across the Firm.

On these developments, Freshfields Senior Partner Georgia Dawson commented,

“Mark’s appointment as global Client Partner reflects the importance we place on a strong, integrated client strategy at a global level, and I’m delighted he will be leading this work for the firm. I would also like to thank Mark for the impact he has had as our UK and Ireland regional managing partner. I’m pleased to announce Victoria as his successor; her leadership experience and client focus make her exceptionally well placed to drive forward our UK business as a core part of Freshfields’ global platform.”

On his new role, Sansom said,

“Leading Freshfields’ UK and Ireland business has been hugely rewarding. I’m excited to build on that experience in my new role, with a firmwide focus on deepening our client relationships and supporting the firm’s continued growth.”

On becoming UK Managing Partner, Sigeti shared,

“It is a privilege to be appointed as UK Managing Partner, building on the strong legacy of leadership in this role. London remains central to our global success, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to continue delivering for our clients and investing in the next generation of talent.”
