Delhi-based legal-tech platform VakeelSaab has onboarded more than 2,000 verified lawyers across India within months of its launch, as demand grows for online legal consultation services.
Founded by advocate Monica Lakhanpal, the platform was launched in November 2025 to help individuals and businesses discover and consult lawyers digitally.
Lakhanpal previously served as Managing Partner of law firm Gaggar & Partners and has over two decades of experience in dispute resolution and corporate advisory.
According to the company, the platform has already facilitated more than 8,000 legal consultations across matters such as property disputes, matrimonial issues, corporate advisory, and civil litigation.
India has one of the world’s largest legal professions, with more than two million advocates enrolled with state bar councils regulated by the Bar Council of India. However, for many individuals seeking legal assistance, identifying the right lawyer often still relies on personal referrals or informal networks.
VakeelSaab aims to address this gap by allowing users to discover and consult verified lawyers online. A key feature of the platform allows users to seek initial legal consultations anonymously, enabling them to explore legal options before formally engaging legal representation.
The platform enables users to seek second opinions on ongoing cases and compare legal strategies from multiple lawyers before deciding whether to formally retain counsel. Once a lawyer is engaged, the process transitions from digital consultation to formal representation.
The platform also allows users to seek second opinions on ongoing cases and compare legal strategies from multiple lawyers before deciding whether to formally engage counsel.
According to the company, all lawyers listed on the platform undergo a multi-layer verification process, including Bar Council credential checks, review of past judicial records, and internal screening. Lawyers on the platform offer services across practice areas including civil, criminal, corporate, family, real estate and intellectual property law.
“Many people struggle with the very first step of resolving a legal issue, finding the right lawyer they can trust. Our aim is to simplify this process by creating a structured platform where users can discover verified legal professionals, speak with them anonymously, and make more informed legal decisions,” said Lakhanpal.
VakeelSaab plans to expand its network of lawyers across additional legal markets in India while strengthening its digital tools. It is also preparing to launch a mobile application on Android and iOS that will allow users to make stage-wise fee payments and receive real-time updates on their cases.
As it scales, the company said it is also exploring strategic partnerships and potential fundraising opportunities to support its next phase of growth.
