Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration set to host MCIA Singapore Roadshow at the Singapore Convention Week

The Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) is set to host its Singapore Roadshow during the Singapore Convention Week 2025. As part of this initiative, MCIA is organising three events in collaboration with eminent law firms and institutions in Singapore.

The sessions will focus on contemporary developments in arbitration and dispute resolution, with a particular emphasis on India’s evolving legal and regulatory landscape.

Event 1: India in Focus: BCI Amendments and Managing Deal Risks in India

The first event will be hosted at Clifford Chance, Singapore, on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The session will provide an in-depth discussion on the recent amendments introduced by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and their implications for cross-border legal practice, deal-making, and dispute management. The discussion will feature a panel of distinguished speakers, including senior advocates, general counsel, and leading practitioners.

Event 2: Indian Arbitration Audit: Institutional Perspectives on the Journey So Far and the Way Forward

The second event will be hosted at Allen & Gledhill, Singapore, on Thursday, 28 August 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

This panel will focus on the progress of institutional arbitration in India, challenges, and the path forward. Senior representatives from arbitral institutions, general counsel, and leading practitioners will share their perspectives on the evolving ecosystem of arbitration in India and its engagement with global best practices.

Event 3: Formative Years in Arbitration – What No One Tells You

The third event will be hosted at HFW, Singapore, on Friday, 29 August 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.

This session is designed as a candid conversation aimed at young practitioners and early-career professionals in arbitration. The discussion will highlight the practical realities, challenges, and growth opportunities in the initial years of arbitration practice, offering insights from experienced practitioners and members of the YMCIA Steering Committee.
