Nishith Desai Associates appoints Darren Punnen as Head of Munich Office

Nishith Desai Associates (NDA) has announced the strategic move of Darren Punnen, a leader in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences practice, to its Munich office.

This move marks a significant step in enhancing NDA's presence in the European Union and underscores the firm's commitment to providing unparalleled legal expertise to its clients worldwide.

Punnen is a 2016 graduate of the School of Law, Christ University.

He brings with him over 8 years of experience in advising multinational pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetic, biotech, digital health, and FMCG companies on a range of legal matters, including commercial and regulatory advice, private equity and M&A, data privacy, litigations, investigations, and employment issues.

While Punnen will continue to focus on the life sciences sector, he will also assume the responsibilities of heading the Munich office and the firm's operations in Europe.

Together with Dr. Dhruv Janssen-Sanghavi, an international tax expert based in the Netherlands, Darren will work with team members across offices in India, US and Singapore to advise clients based in the European region on Indian law matters, entry of European companies into the Indian market, and business collaborations with Indian partners.
