With this merger, the combined total strength of the Partners at Obhan Mason stands at 10. The firms have begun the integration process, aligning practice areas, knowledge infrastructure and internal workflows to enable a smooth and cohesive transition.

Clients of both legacy firms will benefit from a broader spectrum of services under one roof. The combined firm brings together complementary teams and client portfolios, enabling cross-practice collaboration, unified client service and improved efficiencies. Systems, processes and governance frameworks already in place at Obhan will support the scaling of the combined practice.

Commenting on the development, Essenese Obhan explained,

Neel and I have known each other for many years, and our professional journeys have always run parallel with great respect on both sides. This merger feels like a natural progression of that relationship. As Obhan Mason, we bring together the best of litigation, IP, corporate and transactional law, regulatory and advisory practices to serve our clients with even greater scale, depth and agility. Obhan Mason is also an opportunity for me to reimagine what a modern law firm can be. I look forward to guiding our integrated practice into a more forward-looking, integrated and ambitious chapter, with Neel adding tremendous value and support.

Neel Mason added,

Essenese has built a firm with strong infrastructure and operational excellence. His proven credentials, not only as an IP professional but also as a law firm leader, have provided immense confidence to the clients of Mason & Associates. As for me this is an important transition. At some point, I had to choose a path that allows me to give my best, and for me, that is counsel practice. I look forward to collaborating with the Obhan Mason team and delivering for clients in new ways, especially on litigation and strategic dispute resolution, high-stakes conflicts, media and IT disputes, and related contentious matters.”

Ashima Obhan, Senior Partner, Obhan & Associates, added,

Our four offices across New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru reflect our commitment to being where our clients are. With the merger, we are significantly expanding our corporate law bandwidth - from transactions and advisory to complex regulatory matters. For me, ensuring a seamless transition and also exploring synergies with our clients to see how best we can assist them in their corporate law transactions, and other advisory needs is a top priority. This merger strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions across industries and ensures we are ready for the evolving demands of India’s business landscape.”
