Saumay Bhasin has joined Goyel & Goyal as a Partner to lead the firm’s Technology, Media, and Frontier Technologies practice.

Bhasin is a 2014 alumnus of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences

With over 12 years of experience, Bhasin's practice spans data privacy, gaming, Web3, defence, fintech, whitecollar crime, and corporate investigations, with additional experience across highly regulated sectors including drones, pharma and life sciences, and media and entertainment.

Goyel & Goyal has been advising clients across a range of highly regulated sectors, including aerospace, defence, and advanced technologydriven industries, alongside work in emerging and digital businesses. Bhasin’s addition is expected to further strengthen these capabilities and expand the firm’s technology and regulatory advisory offering.

Commenting on the appointment, Akshit Goyal, Founding Partner at Goyel & Goyal, said,

“Saumay’s joining significantly bolsters our existing capabilities across regulated and high stakes sectors. It comes at a time when new regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, along with India’s increasing focus on self reliance in critical and frontier technologies, require more integrated and forward-looking legal advice across practice areas.

With over a decade of experience in highly regulated sectors, and the perspective of having been on both sides of the table – in a law firm and as inhouse counsel – Saumay’s joining meaningfully enhances our ability to translate legal advice into effective business outcomes for our clients. His addition represents an important next step in our evolution as a new age full service law firm with the capability to advise seamlessly across sectors and regulatory regimes.”
