Scott Tan joins Rajah & Tann Singapore as Partner in International Arbitration

Scott Tan has joined Rajah & Tann Singapore as a Partner in International Arbitration practice.

With deep experience in public international law, Tan has represented Singapore in various bilateral and multilateral trade, investment, and diplomatic negotiations - including the upgrade of the China–Singapore Free Trade Agreement (signed 2023) and the EFTA–Singapore Digital Economy Agreement (signed 2025) - and served as a delegate to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He has also advised on a broad range of issues involving international trade and investment law, the law of the sea, sovereign immunity, state responsibility, and the law of armed conflict.

Tan joins the firm from the Singapore Attorney-General’s Chambers, where he was the Director of the International Disputes Practice Group in the International Affairs Division.

Before joining the International Affairs Division, Tan served in various roles within the Singapore Legal Service, including as Special Assistant to Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, Assistant Registrar / District Judge, Justices’ Law Clerk, and Deputy Public Prosecutor.
