Touchstone Partners onboards TT&A's Tanay Agarwal and SAM's Puneeth Nagaraj as Partners

Touchstone Partners has onboarded Tanay Agarwal and Puneeth Nagaraj as Partners in Mumbai and Bangalore, respectively.

Agarwal is a 2015 alumnus of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Joining the firm's Banking and Finance practice, he has over 11 years of experience in domestic and cross-border transactions. He specialises in corporate banking and structured private credit and has advised top-tier banks, fund houses, promoter offices, and conglomerates.

Agarwal's extensive sector experience spans airports, infrastructure, InvITs, retail, hospitality, ed-tech, financial services, and real estate. His transactional portfolio includes strategic stake acquisitions, listed company takeovers, asset monetisations, promoter-level fundraising, margin finance, construction finance, pre-IPO bridge financings, back-leverage by fund houses and fund raises by financial institutions. Notably, he has advised on landmark private credit deals, including the largest private credit debt placement in India and the Asia-Pacific region, social loan ECBs, and the establishment of India’s first asset-backed securitization fund in GIFT City.

Prior to his current role, Agarwal was a Partner in the Banking and Finance team at TT&A, Mumbai.

Nagaraj is a 2013 alumnus of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

He will be leading the Emerging Technologies and Data Privacy practice at Touchstone Partners and has advised leading technology companies on the evolving technology regulation and data privacy framework in India, for over thirteen years. His expertise spans a wide range of sectors including social media, gaming, fintech, healthcare and telecom.

Nagaraj was invited by the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 to testify as an expert witness. In addition to advising reputed clientele, he continues to play an active role in working with clients, industry groups and government stakeholders in the development of regulatory frameworks surrounding data protection and technology regulation.

Prior to his current role, Nagaraj was a Partner in the Technology and Data Privacy practice at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.
