Trilegal Partner and Employment Practice Head Ajay Raghavan is leaving the firm by the end of this financial year, according to sources.
Raghavan is very passionate about the environment and plans to work on climate change full time, post his exit from the firm.
Speaking to Bar & Bench on his decision to quit and what the future holds, Raghavan said,
"Over the last couple of years, I have been spending time trying to understand sustainability and climate change. I’ve been meeting people who are working on solutions to environmental issues. It was then that I realised that there were a lot of people doing things, but largely in silos."
Raghavan is also trying to build a hub in Bangalore that will work on sustainability.
"The idea is to showcase various solutions around sustainability that we can implement in our everyday lives."
Raghavan joined Trilegal in 2001 after graduating from ILS Law College, Pune. He has spent almost 19 years at the firm, where he built a strong labour and employment practice.
On his decision to leave the firm, he said,
"At the firm, because the practice was quite stable, I reached a place where I had the ability to move out."
