AZB & Partners Managing Partner Ajay Bahl has sponsored the fourth flight of National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) Alumni's Aahan Vahaan Mission from Bangalore to Raipur.
The Indigo Flight from Bangalore to Raipur will leave on Thursday morning. It will carry migrant workers from Belgaum, Tumkur, and many other places from Karnataka to Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
In a novel initiative, former students of NLSIU had raised over Rs 12 lakh in less than half a day to lease an aircraft in order to fly 180 migrant labourers from Mumbai to Ranchi amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
With the help of Tata Group, a flight was arranged to fly with 180 Migrants to Ranchi.
Speaking to Bar & Bench on this initiative, Ajay Bahl said,
The Second flight organised by NLSIU ‘Aahan Vahaan’ was sponsored by the Godrej Group.
“We had a plane with 180 people plus 10 infants” said Shyel Trehan, one of the members who led the initiative,
Our youngest passenger was just 17 days old!
The third flight was funded by the parents of Ascend International School in Bandra, Mumbai.
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren had hailed the contribution of the NLSIU alumni.
