The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has told the Parliament that disclosing names of persons arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) may hamper larger public interest as the cases may be impacted..The MHA further said that in 2020, 9 cases were registered and 34 persons were arrested under UAPA by the Delhi Police. The answer by MHA came in response to questions posed by All India Trinamool Congress MP Mala Roy in Lok Sabha..Roy posed the following questions:(a) the total number of cases registered by Delhi Police under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) during the last one year; and(b) the names of persons against whom cases have been registered under UAPA Act during the above period?."As reported by Delhi Police, 09 cases were registered and 34 persons were arrested under UAPA (Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act) during the year 2020.
