

DLA Piper has recently hired Diwakar Agarwal as Legal Director in the Dubai office to enhance its India practice in the Middle East. Diwakar, who is dual qualified in India and UK, has significant experience acting for Indian and international clients in India and in the Middle East. He was previously working as a Senior Associate at Reed Smith in Dubai.
Diwakar is a Chevening Scholar and a graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
Diwakar specifically advises Indian and international clients on corporate matters including private equity, M&A transactions and projects in the Middle East and in India.
Diwakar will support the growing Middle East-India practice of DLA Piper, in particular across Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE, as well as Africa.
Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Yaqout, Regional Managing Partner Middle East in a press release said, “I’m delighted that Diwakar has joined the team as we believe the number of Indian firms looking to expand and invest into the Middle East and Africa is about to dramatically increase”.

In April, DLA Piper had promoted Indian capital markets lawyer, Biswajit Chatterjee to partnership in Singapore office.
