Breaking: Dushyant Dave withdraws SCBA Prez resignation after CJI Thakur’s request

Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave has withdrawn his resignation from the post of the President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). This came after a request was made by Chief Justice TS Thakur during the inauguration of the Bar room today in Supreme Court..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Dave had this to say:.“Following a very passionate and public appeal by Chief Justice of India, during the opening of the Bar room for the Supreme Court Bar Association, I have withdrawn my resignation. He said that the entire credit for the Bar room goes to Dave and that he never realised that there was no Bar room until I told him.”.Dave has also written to the Executive Committee of the SCBA conveying his decision to withdraw his resignation. In his letter, Dave has expressed his desire to carry out ‘unfinished work’ for the ‘betterment of the Bar’..Dave had resigned from the post on February 15 this year after difference with Secretary Gaurav Bhatia. The rift between Dave and SCBA Secretary Gaurav Bhatia had come to light when Dave had absented himself from the farewell function of Justice MY Eqbal. This had led Chief Justice Thakur to open up about the same, expressing hope that things would be resolved soon..However, that was not to be as Dave proceeded to resign.
