Co-founder Anand Prasad’s impending departure is not the only significant change at pan-Indian firm Trilegal. The firm recently announced a series of changes in management structure, with co-founder and Partner Rahul Matthan saying these changes will push the firm to “the next level”.
Matthan, Prasad and Karan Singh are part of the firm’s Management Committee that decides the overall strategy of the firm. With Anand Prasad’s departure this committee will now be reduced to just two.
However, what has been done is to establish a ‘Consultative Board’ which includes the likes of Sridhar Gorthi, Sitesh Mukherjee, Nishant Parikh and Akshay Jaitley. This board will work closely with Matthan and Singh, although it has not been disclosed just what the responsibilities of this board will be.
National Heads, earlier announced by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and then by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, have also found mention in Trilegal’s new structure.
The following Practice Heads have been appointed:
Corporate
Projects
Disputes
Speaking to Bar & Bench on the management restructuring, Rahul Matthan said,
“We are institutionalizing the firm to take it to the next level”.
Chief Operating Officer
The firm has also hired Sabiana Anandaraj as the new Chief Operating Officer to assist management committee. Commenting on this, Matthan said,
“The idea is to offload non-legal work from the lawyers.”
