Former Amarchand Senior Associate, Rishi Anand has set up a full service law firm called GNARUS Partners with a team of 5 lawyers including him. The firm has been operational since December 15, 2012. The office is located in C.R. Park area in South Delhi.
Rishi resigned from Amarchand Mangaldas on November 17, 2012 to set up his own firm GNARUS (pronounced as Narus), which is a Latin term meaning ‘skilfull’ or ‘having knowledge of a particular subject’. Speaking to Bar & Bench, Rishi said, “The idea is not to create a individualistic firm but to create an institution. I’m always looking forward to join hands with like minded productive people and the target is to build up a team of 10 fee earners by the end of 2013″.
Rishi has more than five years of experience working with both Indian and International law firms. He specializes in corporate M&A and private equity.
The team includes another lawyer with seven years of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. Rishi will also advise clients in regulatory space apart from M&A and private equity.
Rishi started his career with Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan after graduating from Symbiosis in 2007. He worked with them for a year and then went on to do his LLM from NUS, Singapore. Thereafter, he worked with Chinese Law Firm Dacheng Law Offices. He worked with them for little less than two years before moving to Rodyk & Davidson, where he worked for a year before moving back to India and joining Amarchand Mangaldas in 2011.
Talking about his decision to set up his own firm, Rish said, “I always wanted to set up my own law firm. That was the plan and that’s why I worked with both Indian and foreign law firms to get the right exposure”.
“I already have a couple of retainers and I have started advising clients. The clients are very receptive and they are very open to hiring start up law firms”, added Rishi.
