As per the post, he is preparing for an arbitration from hospital, where he has spent his last four weeks for surgeries."Dad, almost 70 years old, ready for a week-long arbitration from hospital bed, where he has spent the last four weeks, after his fourth surgery (3rd unplanned one), all in the last 8 months. He has tubes coming out of his body and is in pain most of the day. Work life balance anyone?" the post says..CJI Bobde was born in 1956 and enrolled as lawyer in 1978. He practiced before the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court for over 21 years and was designated Senior Advocate in 1998.He was made judge of Bombay High Court in March 2000 and was made Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court in October 2012.He was elevated to the Supreme Court on April 12, 2013 and was sworn in as CJI on November 18, 2019.He retired as CJI on April 23, 2021. .The work-life balance of lawyers and judges has been a subject of much debate.Former CJI DY Chandrachud had said in January 2023 that those in legal profession should stop glorifying burnout.He had bemoaned the fact that those in the legal profession tend to take pride in the extra-long hours associated with their jobs, leading to mental health issues. He had batted for better working hours and work-life balance in law offices and chambers of lawyers.The CJI recounted the experience of his late former wife, who was a lawyer herself."My late former wife who was a lawyer, when she went to a law firm, she asked what would be the working hours and she was told it is 24x7 and 365 days...When she asked what about ones with family, she was told find a husband who can do household chores and there is no family time," he stated.
